Don't Get Space AIDS w/ Ali Simmons

Today we welcome in one of my favorite humans in the universe – and I know you may be thinking I say that a lot, but I’ve known Ali Simmons for just twenty years and she is one of the best friends a person could ask for. Recently venturing into the world of art and graphic design, Ali joins us today to talk video games, 90s infomercials, and fan art. She gifted us with a wonderful piece of art that you can find on our socials right now! Chef’s kiss…

As she has recently launched her own business which you can find on Instagram at pluvialart. If you are wondering what that might mean, pluvial is an adjective referring to something of or relating to rain, especially much rain, or rainy. Being born in the Pacific Northwest, it felt only natural to adopt said moniker. You can also check out her art at pluvialart.com/shop. Links will be in the description.

Make sure you stick around til the end of the episode where you can hear the song Bouquet Grey by artist Secret Crush – one of Rob’s many collaborative efforts, and one of my favorite jams.

About the Podcast

The Nostalgia Pit
FKA: Ruining Your Childhood - The Pitfalls of Nostalgia
The Nostalgia Pit is a podcast aiming to dissect pop culture, the subconscious, and other psychological phenomena through a hyperbolic and prismatic lens. Hosted by Rob Snow and Colin Casserd, the Nostalgia Pit is available anywhere you find your podcasts.

Nostalgia is so often thought of as something great from our childhood... But this psychological pitfall can sometimes have massive effects on our decision making. Our goal here is to discuss these areas where morals and ethics blur and the warm feelings of childhood take over. Oh, and to talk some shit...

Produced by Colin Casserd
Engineered by Alex Riddle (Season 2)
